Now…as I said in my last post, I’m working on a few post to cover (and catch up) on what happened while I was “out” of the game for a bit.  And…as you can tell from the title…this one will be about the Blog Pack.

I’m excited to be in the Blog Pack.  Why?  Because it brings me traffic, I get a default spot in Capsuleer (which brings me traffic), and all the chicks dig it (it’s ok Mynx…you can admit it).

Truthfully, I’m not really sure what all the ruckus was about.  People saying it’s a popularity contest, or that people should get to vote on who’s in it, etc.  The simple fact of the matter is that the Blog Pack is CK’s baby…so I’m glad in the end he picked who he thought would be on it.  And as to the popularity contest portion…isn’t that what blogging is?

To say that some blogs aren’t any better than other blogs, or that all blogs should have the same popularity would just be plain idiotic and untrue.  You get out of your blog what you put into it.

I in no way think that the Blog Pack is all the good blogs (I subscribe to well over 400 blogs, and read everyone of them…we do have an AWESOME community).  And from what I have seen, our community sticks together very well, tons of people link to other people; and we have http://www.evebloggers.com, Ga’len, and Keith all of whom keep updated list of the current eve bloggers.

So, to summarize this horribly outlined post (lol, what else do you expect?…I don’t plan these things ):

1. The Blog Pack is CK’s…he makes the decisions…not the community
2. Popularity is a requirement on the internet…we can’t all have it if we don’t try
3. Popularity shouldn’t matter to you…”If You Build It, They Will Come” fits nicely here…if you want your blog out there, get off your lazy ass and make it happen
4. Insert any other points you feel like making up about my post here
5. I’m more specialer than you

Oh, and this post isn’t aimed at anyone in particular…it’s pretty much a kick in the pants to the whole community telling you (if you need to be told) to do what you what, when you want, how you want.  Have fun…don’t stress about shit that doesn’t really matter.

Where is my computer you may ask?  Well…interesting story.

Recently, my laptop started having some screen issues.  It would stay on for a bit, then the screen would just go black.  It still had a “glow” to it…so I figured it was the power inverter going bad.  It was pretty random, so I didn’t think it was a loose wire…but I took the laptop apart anyway, and confirmed there was no loose wires.  Then…I got an excellent idea…

My wife and I have the exact same laptop…so I took her inverter, put it on mine, put mine on hers…and…mine worked, her’s didn’t.  SUCCESS!!! That’s the problem…now all I need to do is buy a $50 inverter for my laptop screen.

What happens next?  Me being the impatient ass that I am didn’t take the batteries out while I was doing this…and while I was moving the 2 inverters back to the correct computers…I accidentally turned on the computers…yet…both of them.

Now, if you don’t know what an LCD Power Inverter is…to put it simply, there is too much power coming from a standard house plug, so the power inverter (through magic!) lesses the voltage going to the screen…so, if it isn’t there…it fries the screen…dead, blown, all gone, kaput…bad and sad .

So now, instead of needing a $50 piece, I need to buy 2 $300 lcd screens for my computers…which, I can’t really afford at the moment…so, I grabbed my two extra monitors (I did have dual screen setup in the office) and hooked them up to the laptops.  And, as to why it’s not in the office…well…we almost got robbed a few month ago and my wife is still paranoid…so I moved my laptop into the living room to be with her, and haven’t moved back yet.

So here you go…my “current” Evespace

I’m quiting EVE, for good.

It’s a very complicated set of reasons that I’ve decided to take this route…but to sum it all up, EVE is hurting me and my family, and I can’t let it do that anymore.

I’ve played EVE for about two and a half years now, off and on, back and forth…with the reason for me taking a break each time either burn-out, or the game affecting my relationship with my family. I’ve realized that no matter what I do, the game always creeps back up to that level of interference and the only way I can solve it is to put down for good.

No, you can’t have my stuff…I already gave it all to Suddenly Ninjas…and I hope they use it to suicide gank you! :p

Now, onto more pressing issues. What to do with the blog?

I was thinking about keeping it up, and turning it into a Ninja Fiction blog (not sure if I want to leave it in the same format, or convert it over to a RP style of writing?) What I mean, is I’ll still be that bastard Ninja that likes to prey on the idiots of EVE…but the stories, chat logs, and incidents will all be completely fake and made up by me.

What do you guys think of that? I’d love to hear your opinions about it! Would you like to read it? Or would knowing it all didn’t really happen make you uninterested.

I’ve had a LOT of people privately talk to me in game and via email about how much they enjoy my blog. How they read it at work, or in the truck rest areas (I had a convo with a Trucker the other day, that was interesting)…and wanting me to post more since I haven’t in a while.

While I know I must leave EVE, I’d hate to let all you loyal readers down by just having the blog go away if you’d still like to see something like this. It’s up to you! Let me know what you think in the comments, or email me at cyberineve @ gmail dot com.

I’ve got at least 3 decent posts in the works that I’m still working the kinks out of, so look forward to those in the near future…but for this post…I figured I’d do what’s customary for this time of year…Resolutions for the upcoming set of 365 days!

1. Become a sort of diplomat for the Ninjas…and talk with some 0.0 Alliances to possibly work out some blue standings to work on sec status in relative safety for some major hi-sec ganking opportunities.  People have been bitching about being killed enough lately that i figure we need to step up our game…these are epic tears just waiting to be captured!
2. Break 10 Billion ISK in networth…who can’t use more ISK?
3. Get my learning skills done (almost there actually…yay!)
4. Piss some people off, and listen to them whine

All in all, pretty simple set of resolutions for now…I’m easy like that and prefer not to set any goals that might let me down too quickly!

This is the best way because you only get a Security Status increase once every 15 minutes per system…so if you go to different systems you can get more than one increase in 15 minutes.

Me?  I’m lazy, and playing it safe.  I don’t feel like losing my ship/pod at the moment to a gate camp…and I can’t be arsed to scout for myself at the moment either…so I’ve just been chilling in one system ratting.  Sure, I’m not gaining Security Status as fast as I’d like…but on the bright side, I’m making more ISK than I would be if I was just killing one Rat per system…since I can farm the belt rat battleships.

Up to -7.88, from -9.94…so I’m getting there slowly but surely.

In other news, it seems that no matter where I go I can’t help but be a smart ass…this short log is from yesterday while me and another Ninja (who kindly came to keep me company..thanks man!) were ratting and needed to relieve a little boredom.

We played with the guy for at least an hour…he would come in a Cheetah, scan us down, warp out to grab his Vagabond, then a Sabre.  He sling bubbled a gate, and the station trying to get us.  I was cloaked so I let him scan down Onilan in his Rifter so we could move safespots just to annoy him.

After about an hour he called in a friend…and since it was late already, I called it a night when he decided he didn’t wanna have any more fun…lol

In real life, I’m an Air Traffic Controller for the United States Air Force…and I love my job!  So, I guess in EVE that would equate to being a Docking Controller for one of the major faction military stations.

My day would start by a screaching alarm clock going off, and subsequently me rolling over my wife and clicking the snooze button…twice.  18 Minutes after it went off the first time I’d finally get up, meander into the bathroom to do the “Three S’s” (plus brushing the teeth), walk into the kitchen and debate what I want for breakfast…then say screw it and go check my market orders to see how many people have 0.01isked me overnight.

While I’m updating my trades and looking over the days skill queue I’ll also be putting on my boots, making sure my Neocom is charged, and wishing I had of actually eaten something for breakfast as I run out the door…3 minutes after I was planning on being gone.  It’s all good though, as long as I rush through the crowd a bit I’ll get to work on time (which…on time happens to be 10 minutes before I’m required to be there…which is actually 15 minutes before my shift starts…so I’ll never actually be late…yet I rush anyway).

Either the elevator is broken, or I can hear someone giggling 9 floors above me as I open the elevator door to the rotten smell of freshly ripped ass…either way, I’ll probably run up the 9 flights of stairs leading to the large glass room overlooking the massive docking bay entrance to the station.  Then I’ll run back down them, grab the Neocom out of my locker since I forgot to grab it out of my bag before I ran up, and head on up again.  The Neocom is a must since it is mostly likely going to be a boring day of watching space turn black…so I’ll need to play some Tower Defense games while I hope beyond hope that some Rookie Pilot in an Ibis will decide to do a few laps around the station.

5 Hours later, after not talking to a soul all day…the Emergency Frequency cracks to life as a Pod Pilot has declared an Emergency and requests priority to dock as one of his engines shut off due to an oil pressure loss.  Mind you, this Pilot is fine, his ship has another 30 or so engines…and only 2 of them are needed to push his ships mass along at any speed he should require…but since he’s just another whining Pod Pilot we’ll humor him, call out the Fire, Medical, and Docking Maintenance Control (who knows…he may nick the docking bay as he comes in…gotta make sure it’s good to go before we let anyone else dock)…and ring out the Crash Net so everyone knows what is going on.

10 minutes later, Mr. Whining Pod Pilot is docked safe, and I am laughing at the excessive amount of paperwork he’ll undoubtedly be filling out for the next few hours simply because he wanted ‘traffic priority’…even though there was no one else in sight for Hundreds of Kilometers.  I then un-pause my Tower Defense game and finish “that one level”…for the hundredth time.

That last hour of the work day is the worst..I know the next shift is coming to relieve me soon, but I swear…wasn’t there 40 minutes left like…3 hours ago?  Has time stopped?…I swear it has!  Finally, just as I’m about to open the emergency air lock and toss myself out into the cold vastness of space, I see the first of them start to shuffle in downstairs (I love that little security camera).

I quickly let the Watch Supervisor know I need to use the restroom…and I run down to the floor below…open the Elevator that I called up earlier this morning…rip some ass, and then giggle as I send it down to pick the next crew up while I walk back up to the “office”.

In they walk with sour looks on their faces asking who the joker was.  Me and the Sup both point at the Trainee that’s been sitting there all day doing nothing since there is no traffic for him to learn off of.  We all give our relief crew a briefing on the extremely busy time we’ve been having watching the stars twinkle…and then I head off back to home, thankful that I have a Swing shift tomorrow and get to sleep in late.

Oh, and speaking of the Ninjas…I have a new title…I do believe it is something along the lines of “Cyberin, Director of Personnel Recruitment”!  That’s right…I’ve been back for 2-3 days and I’ve been promoted to Director.  As you can tell from the title…I’ll be in charge of recruitment for the Ninjas…which, I’ve been wanting to do for quite some time actually.  I may not have known it until very recently…but Suddenly Ninjas is where I belong…and I’m very happy to be able to give back to this fine group of bastards in any way that I can.  Plus…I’ve been told I have a way with words so I can most assuredly trick, I mean, recruit many a good Ninja for the future!

I’ve got my security status to under -9 now, sadly…only -8.91 I think…so I still have a LONG way to go.  I would be a lot further, but I haven’t actually gotten much time to undock this past week to work on it.  Early in the week I was busy working on getting some other website stuff I’ve got going done, and then mid-week I was having lag issues so I was scared to undock with 500 Mil ISK in my head in 0.0.  Then Friday when I came home from work my Cable Modem had died so I had to wait until this morning for the Cable Repair Guy to bring me a new one.

Then of course today is my Anniversary (6 years…I love you Babe!  Even if you didn’t let me play much EVE today…what’s up with that? :p)…so…not much play time there.

Tomorrow I get the morning at home to myself though, at which point I’ll get my alt back to where I am as a scout so I can continue pewing these dirty Serpentis Rats so I can get back home to Dodixie…many fun times ahead!
