Novemember Character Review
by Cyberin on Dec.15, 2009, under Character Updates
This months character review is:
- Quite late…I know, and I’m sorry…I’ve just been rather busy in game doing stuff and finally got the urge to write this post…hopefully now that I’ve got it out of the way I can update you with more juicy posts in the near future!
- A different format than my normal Character Updates. I’ve got a lot to talk about concerning my “Character”…and EVE for me in General this month, so I figured I’d just put it in this post as it makes the most sense!
So first, to get the details out of the way. Cyberin has about 7.8 Million Skillpoints now, and a networth of just a few million under 6 Billion ISK according to EVEHQ. I also no longer have my Orca alt, he was sold when I went out to pirate with the Tuskers. This month saw me train a lot of support and gunnery skills, not to mention the new skills that Dominion opened up for me…Thermodynamics and Hacking/Archaeology. I’ve also finally decided to start working more on my Learning skills, so an update on those will most likely be in the December Character Review at the end of the month (yeah, only 2 weeks away, darn late Review posts…)
Max Hatter tried to Piss in my Wheaties
by Cyberin on Dec.02, 2009, under Community
Having a post dedicated solely to me was quite a surprise…and I feel it deserves it’s own in return. Apparently Max Hatter over at Suddenly, News! misses me so bad that he decided to piss in my wheaties rather than just trying to have my babies…silly Rabbit…Trix are for kids (sorry Max, your name always makes me think of the Mad Hatter…lol).
So Cyberin who is one of the leading figures in the ninja salvaging community have decided to leave Suddenly Ninjas for a low sec pirate corp called Tuskers.
Really? One of the leading figures? I didn’t know that…very flattering though. I guess I was pretty decent at it, though I’d not consider myself anywhere near the top of that ladder…I hadn’t even been doing it that long. Nice to know I had some worshipers though :p
Oh, and it’s “The Tuskers”
This isn’t the first time Cyberin does one of these foolish moves as he have leaft for other corps in the past. He had a try at faction warfare before. This might have been someone else in Suddenly Ninjas but I don’t really care about the facts. Facts tend to get in the way of a proving my points.
Yup, that was me…and I did try that a bit ago, no where near the same though. I didn’t want to go -10 back then, and I did it mostly solo. I’d probably have liked it more if I’d joined a corp…I need people to fly with…hence the application to The Tuskers.
But one fact is true. They all come back. The ninja lifestyle (eve style) is to good to leave for long. Many ninjas have tried a different approach to eve but they have all been disappointed.
I might, I definitely can’t deny that…since I’m so undecided all the time it’s a possibility for sure…but I’m having so much fun right now that it’s not looking likely any time soon. I enjoyed being a Ninja, and all you guys are awesome…a very tight knit group of like minded individuals who I could always count on…but sadly, I wasn’t getting what I wanted. As much fun as making people cry is, I was starting to get tired of having to bait people into shooting me, and even then it was only a possibility. I began to just want blood…I wanted to see people die, and I wanted to them do it at my own hands…Ninjaing just wasn’t gonna cut it sadly…so I had to come out here and go all flashy!
See what I did there? I care greatly about facts when the work in my favor. I give Cyberin about two-three weeks before he comes crawling back. Then we will all welcome him back with open arms and give him affectionate nicknames like Judas or Deserter. Come back to us! Please.
Even if I do…looking at my sec status…and my impatience…I can certainly say it’ll be longer than three weeks
. Though, a nickname does sound fun…lol.
I’ll miss ya guys of course…but as you know, Eve has a way of changing people…and at the moment I’m having a shit ton of fun. (Not that I wasn’t in the Ninjas, this is just a different kind of fun that I’ve been wanting to try since I started Eve 2 years ago).
Thanks for the shout out post Max, I appreciate it…and keep the Tears flowing free!
and the Tuskers it is!
by Cyberin on Nov.29, 2009, under Captain's Log, Community, Fleet Ops, Kill
I mentioned in my last post that I had put in an application with the Tuskers, well…after a bit of running around lowsec solo, destroying my sec status, other people…and getting destroyed myself a few times…they decided I would be a good fit for the corp…and so now I am officially a Tusker!
I’ve already been on a few Corp Roams, which have so far been a blast! I actually got the killing blow on my first kill of my first roam with them…which isn’t that big of a deal really, but I thought it was neat. I also got to join in on the Ransoming of a Megathron pilot who was in the wrong place at the wrong time. It took a little while, but he eventually paid us 80 Mil to keep his ship, 16 Mil for each of us split 5 ways…so that was pretty decent for my first ever ransom payment.
It’s truthfully been a pretty busy week or so for me and so much has happened that I can’t remember it all exactly how it went down. You can checkout my personal killboard (link at the top of the site) for the kills/losses I’ve had since I decided to go pirate. Though one thing I’ve impressed myself with so far (again…not a huge deal, but I like stats and stuff) is I’ve gone from Rank 93,312 in Battleclinic, to Rank 24,456 in 4 days. I know it’s no where near good…but…it’s a start.
I’ve been sticking with mainly Rifters, and plan on sticking with them for a while since my skills aren’t that good. I have a few battlecruisers and battleships sitting in station…but I’ll only fly those when I know I have pretty much no chance of dieing…(like killing macros outside station). My Rifters have the good aspect of being relatively cheap at about 10 Mil ISK fully fit (I am T2 fitting them mostly), as well as being a very popular PvP frigate for good reason.

In other news…I decided to sell my alt. I’ve been leaning towards only running one account for a while now…simply to provide more of a challenge to EVE…so with this new change to piracy I figured now would be as good a time as any. Got a pretty good addition to my Wallet by selling him, so I’ll be able to keep myself in my cheap frigates (and a few fun toys if I want) for quite some time. I figure next month I might worry about starting to work on actually making ISK…but for the time being…I just want to learn my pirating skills better.
Been an excellent change so far…stay tuned for more updates!
Oh, and I forgot to mention…it’s going to be fun flying with so many fellow bloggers!…there are at least 6 of us in the Tuskers…including Wensley, Ka Jolo, Kirith Darkblade (he just got accepted today!), Noir Avlaa, Bourreau…should be fun. (if I forgot any fellow Tusker Bloggers…please comment so I can add you to my Tusker Blogroll when I put it up)
The Pirate, The Scary Noob, and the Rifter
by Cyberin on Nov.26, 2009, under Captain's Log, Fail, Kill, Tears
Some people will love it, some people will be saddened by it…but I have decided to go Pirate. As much as I’ve enjoyed being a Ninja, the yearning for blood has just become too strong…so I’ve taken the leap.
At the moment I’m running around waiting to hear a yes or no from my application to The Tuskers…hopefully that will go over well, as they are an awesome group of people I’d love to be a part of. Though, I will miss Suddenly Ninjas as they are an awesome group of people too
.
I’ve got a decent bit of kills in High Security space, but to be a Pirate I need to do it out in lowsec…without tricking people into shooting me. The first 2 days I started I couldn’t find any kills, but then the 3rd day (yesterday) I got a bit luckier. I got 3 destroyer kills in my Rifter, and the pods of 2 of them. The first pod got away because I forgot I moved my scram to the F1 slot and turned it off rather than my guns and he warped out.
One of the individuals I popped and podded had a nice conversation with me this afternoon…you can read it below.

After this, I had to go have Thanksgiving Dinner at two different families places…came back a few hours later to find out that I now have a bounty of 15,000 ISK. Yes, don’t be shocked…you read that correctly. It is 15…with THREE (holy shit…THREE!!!) Zeros. This dude wasn’t messing when he said he was rich!
So, I’m pretty scared now…not entirely sure what I should do. I was considering possibly giving all my assets away and quitting EVE just to be on the safe side. But after speaking with a few people, including a Preacher, two cheap hookers, and a mailman, I’ve decided to take my chances and hope the Noob Fleet of Doom doesn’t show up and rape me mercilessly.
