Novemember Character Review
by Cyberin on Dec.15, 2009, under Character Updates
This months character review is:
- Quite late…I know, and I’m sorry…I’ve just been rather busy in game doing stuff and finally got the urge to write this post…hopefully now that I’ve got it out of the way I can update you with more juicy posts in the near future!
- A different format than my normal Character Updates. I’ve got a lot to talk about concerning my “Character”…and EVE for me in General this month, so I figured I’d just put it in this post as it makes the most sense!
So first, to get the details out of the way. Cyberin has about 7.8 Million Skillpoints now, and a networth of just a few million under 6 Billion ISK according to EVEHQ. I also no longer have my Orca alt, he was sold when I went out to pirate with the Tuskers. This month saw me train a lot of support and gunnery skills, not to mention the new skills that Dominion opened up for me…Thermodynamics and Hacking/Archaeology. I’ve also finally decided to start working more on my Learning skills, so an update on those will most likely be in the December Character Review at the end of the month (yeah, only 2 weeks away, darn late Review posts…)
As any loyal reader of Hands Off, My Loots! can tell you, I recently took the plunge to -10 Security Status to become a pirate. I was totally sure that’s what I wanted to do, and even told a few fellow bloggers it was most likely for the long haul because everything I did in EVE always tended to lead towards that direction. So, I went out, got to -9.8, killed some people, destroyed a lot of macro miners (you can check my Battleclinic record to see all that…too many to mention), got accepted into the Tuskers, and during the time met up with a few other Bloggers who also recently joined the Tuskers.
So what is all this about you ask? Well…those other Bloggers are still in the Tuskers…and I’m back with Suddenly Ninjas…and working my Security Status back up in Syndicate (shout out to Chainer Cygnus who has kept me company a bit out there, and brought me ammo).
The main reason I went over the the Tuskers was because I felt like I was starting to turn into a bit of a griefer and wasn’t really comfortable with that. I thought that I wanted to be a pirate so I could just get all the free kills that I wanted without having to work and work and work in order to get some noob to shoot at me in hi-sec. Turns out I was wrong!
The challenge of using my intellect (and often smart ass mouth) to get someone to aggress me (or even to just cry with me) is what I enjoy the most. It took me heading out the Low-Sec and being mostly bored for 2 weeks to figure this out.
Don’t get me wrong, being a pirate was fun. I got to get some easy kills…as well as go on a few roams and collect some decent ransoms while in fleet, but the more I did it…the more boring it because warping from system to system hitting the D-Scan every few seconds. It’s a different kind of combat, and one that I now know doesn’t suit me that well because all though it requires a bit of skill…it doesn’t really require any mental prowess to do it (no offense to you pirates out there!).
———-
I also missed hanging out with all my fellow ninjas. The Tuskers seem like a fine bunch, but I’ve gotten to know the Ninjas a lot better, and there are some people over in Suddenly Ninjas that I would just rather fly with than anyone else (Emizeko…are you reading this? I miss you! :p).
There is nothing quite like having most all of your corp close by to help you out at a moments notice with anything you need really. The feeling of knowing there is someone that can come bring you some RR if needed, or some extra damage for corp aggro, or even just emotional support when the bears start abusing you!
Warping a 20 man fleet into a Mission Runners mission and picking it clean in less than 3 minutes, or bumping that afk Hulk away from the roid he’s mining and then blowing the living shit out of him while he’s off wanking just can’t be matched for me in Low-Sec.
So…here I am, home and happy again with the Ninjas.
(though…I do have quite a bit of Sec Status to gain back before I can get back into High-Sec with them…)
(p.s. I used WAY to many () in this post…)
