My turn! – My Evespace…
by Cyberin on Mar.06, 2010, under Community, General
While I sat on the midshift at work last night, I managed to get my backlog of google reader blog posts down from 500 or so to a little less than 100….it was an excellent night. Holy crap I missed a lot over the last month while I was gone. I plan on making a few posts over the next few days about the things that transpired during that time…this is the first.
Don’t want anyone to miss out on my awesome setup. (click images to open full size)
- I keep up with my calendar very well…this image was taken today
- My cell phone…:)
- MOMMY!!!!
- My Computer…wait…WTF??
- “Say hello to my little friend!” (I love my wife…one of my favorite b-day presents ever…the rounds below the image are real, from the set of Scarface
)…at least…they are supposed to be
- My Loots
- My Daughters’ Loots
Where is my computer you may ask? Well…interesting story.
Recently, my laptop started having some screen issues. It would stay on for a bit, then the screen would just go black. It still had a “glow” to it…so I figured it was the power inverter going bad. It was pretty random, so I didn’t think it was a loose wire…but I took the laptop apart anyway, and confirmed there was no loose wires. Then…I got an excellent idea…
My wife and I have the exact same laptop…so I took her inverter, put it on mine, put mine on hers…and…mine worked, her’s didn’t. SUCCESS!!! That’s the problem…now all I need to do is buy a $50 inverter for my laptop screen.
What happens next? Me being the impatient ass that I am didn’t take the batteries out while I was doing this…and while I was moving the 2 inverters back to the correct computers…I accidentally turned on the computers…yet…both of them.
Now, if you don’t know what an LCD Power Inverter is…to put it simply, there is too much power coming from a standard house plug, so the power inverter (through magic!) lesses the voltage going to the screen…so, if it isn’t there…it fries the screen…dead, blown, all gone, kaput…bad and sad
.
So now, instead of needing a $50 piece, I need to buy 2 $300 lcd screens for my computers…which, I can’t really afford at the moment…so, I grabbed my two extra monitors (I did have dual screen setup in the office) and hooked them up to the laptops. And, as to why it’s not in the office…well…we almost got robbed a few month ago and my wife is still paranoid…so I moved my laptop into the living room to be with her, and haven’t moved back yet.
So here you go…my “current” Evespace
oops…that’s not it…that’s my fierce guard dog to keep the burglars away!
Here it is…finally.
- My lovely trackball mouse…would be a little hard for a normal mouse on the couch…
- My daughters cell phone?…maybe I got these mixed up…
- Not mine
- Mine
- Aiden’s…I swear!
Just two more views…computer on left is mine, wife is over to the right.

This will come as a shock to some people, while some already know. (and so soon after joining back up with the Ninjas and being made a Director…sorry about that VP
).
I’m quiting EVE, for good.
It’s a very complicated set of reasons that I’ve decided to take this route…but to sum it all up, EVE is hurting me and my family, and I can’t let it do that anymore.
I’ve played EVE for about two and a half years now, off and on, back and forth…with the reason for me taking a break each time either burn-out, or the game affecting my relationship with my family. I’ve realized that no matter what I do, the game always creeps back up to that level of interference and the only way I can solve it is to put down for good.
No, you can’t have my stuff…I already gave it all to Suddenly Ninjas…and I hope they use it to suicide gank you! :p
———-
Now, onto more pressing issues. What to do with the blog?
I was thinking about keeping it up, and turning it into a Ninja Fiction blog (not sure if I want to leave it in the same format, or convert it over to a RP style of writing?) What I mean, is I’ll still be that bastard Ninja that likes to prey on the idiots of EVE…but the stories, chat logs, and incidents will all be completely fake and made up by me.
What do you guys think of that? I’d love to hear your opinions about it! Would you like to read it? Or would knowing it all didn’t really happen make you uninterested.
I’ve had a LOT of people privately talk to me in game and via email about how much they enjoy my blog. How they read it at work, or in the truck rest areas (I had a convo with a Trucker the other day, that was interesting)…and wanting me to post more since I haven’t in a while.
While I know I must leave EVE, I’d hate to let all you loyal readers down by just having the blog go away if you’d still like to see something like this. It’s up to you! Let me know what you think in the comments, or email me at cyberineve @ gmail dot com.
(And for those that care, I’ll also soon be making a LotRO blog, because that’s the only game I’ll be playing now because my entire family plays it and that is where we spend some of our quality time
)…hit me up if you play LotRO on the Meneldor server
Christmas Suicide Ganks!

Everyone is talking about it, so I might as well too. CCP Wrangler announced today that CCP will be giving out a special ship for Christmas to all those with an active account (non-trial). The ship is the Zephyr, and if I see you in it…and I have sec status to spare after I finish getting it high enough to get back into highsec…I will blow you up.
You have been warned!
A Simple Thanks

I’m not usually keen on non-eve stuff on ma blog, but I had to do this one. Yesterday was Veteran’s Day, and since I’m in the Air Force, I had the day off…I spent it playing Dragon Age: Origins…so didn’t see a lot of posts from the Blogging Community until today before I head to work.
I’d just like to say thank you to all you guys that made blog posts thanking all of us who serve, have served, or have paid the ultimate sacrifice to ensure freedom is maintained.
That is all, thanks
My Loots are Faster than Your Loots
by Cyberin on Nov.10, 2009, under General
I highly, highly doubt that many mission runners have noticed it, but there are a few missions that you can now use Microwarp Drive in. It’s been like this for a bit now, as us folks in Suddenly Ninjas have been talking about it…and some of us have even started putting an Afterburner and a Microwarp Drive on our ships…just in case.
Once we realized this we starting hoping that it’s some sort of new change coming in the future…where MWDs are allowed in all missions. Well…today, CCP confirmed it. Thanks CCP Dropbear!
Now I know lots of you MRs (us people in the ‘industry’ like to refer to Mission Runners as MRs in case you didn’t get that) are having mixed feelings about this. On one hand, your Battleships can go faster now…which you know you are happy about…for those of you willing to sacrifice a bit of tank anyway. But on the other hand…other people can go faster in your missions now too.
How do I feel about this?…well…that’s a stupid question. Whenever these changes are finallized and introduced fully throughout all missions…I don’t have to put along all slow like at 1,300 m/s, I will now be able to salvage the wrecks I find littered in space…and take you hands off my loots, at a nice, leisurely pace of 3,500 m/s.
Needless to say…I’m looking forward to it.
