Character Updates

Changes…oh sweet Changes

by Cyberin on Aug.16, 2010, under Character Updates, Community

Well, for like the 3rd or 4th time…I’m no longer a Ninja. I’ve gone over to join up with Velocity Prime with the Misfit Toys. Don’t worry…I’ll still hopefully be posting plenty of tears…as soon as I start getting some…been kinda slow for me lately because I’ve been on vacation.

———-

I’d been thinking about leaving the Ninjas for a while, possibly making my own one man corp to dec mission runners…but I have such a strong connection with the Ninjas it has been a rather hard thing to do. But with some personal stuff that came up recently, and the fact that most of the time when I log in I either spin in the station…or flounder around for hours waiting for someone to shoot me…when no one ever does, I decided it was time to take the leap again. As always, the Ninjas are the reason I’ve stayed in EVE, and the group that made me realize what I enjoy most in EVE. So it’s bitter sweet to be leaving again, but it’s just something I had to do.

For those of you who haven’t heard of the Misfit Toys, we are a high sec wardec corp (for now…) and just love having fun killing people when we can. It was started by Velocity Prime a little while after he resigned as CEO of the Ninjas…and it’s been going along very well.

If you’d like to know more about us indepth…click the link up there in the first paragraph…it’ll explain a lot.

Now, hopefully I’ll have some tears for everyone soon :D

Monthly Character Status – March 2010

by Cyberin on Mar.30, 2010, under Character Updates, Community

I’m finally getting around to making a specific format for these month character status posts, so I hope you all find it as interesting as I do!

———-

First, this isn’t really a character section per say, but it’s something I will be doing every month to try and show how the blog is progressing topic wise.  I was debating on whether I wanted to make this it’s own separate post, but since most things in the blog come from my character habits anyway…this should be a good place.

Wordle: Hands Off, My Loots! - Mar 2010

In case anyone is wondering what it is…Flashfresh recently posted it, and it seems to simply create a word cloud from the most commonly used words in the text you give it.  In this case, I gave it a link to the entire blog.

———-

When I came back, I said I was going to try and spend less time in EVE and more time with my family.  Although I always seem to be logged in, I’m normally AFK doing stuff with the family, so I think I’m doing pretty good on that side of things.  I am however already up to 3 accounts.  Cyberin, my main character, is on one account.  Another account holds my Orca alt, and the third account is a Supar Sekrit!

Cyberin:

  • 2,441,555 Skillpoints
  • 5 Skills at Level V
  • 6 Skills at Level IV
  • 23 Skills at Level III
  • 79 Total Skills
  • Rough estimated networth of ~4 Billion

This time around I have decided to work mostly on my Learning Skills.  So, although I have leart a few other skills, 1.7 Million of my total 2.4 Million Skill Points are in Learning.  The rest are mostly engineering and electrons, with a few other pvpish skills thrown in there.  The other skills were so I could have a bit of fun roaming belts can flipping and of course salvaging/scanning skills.  They are all subpar…but will of course be trained up once I finish getting my learning skills trained up in the next 14 days.

Orca Alt:

  • 5,318,301 Skillpoints
  • 11 Skills at Level V
  • 13 Skills at Level IV
  • 9 Skills at Level III
  • 45 Total Skills
  • Estimated networth of ~550 Million

This is my Orca alt.  My plan for this character is to work on Remote Repair skills (about 60 days current training skills for T1 Shield/Armor RR), then after that to either do trade/refining or Leadership.  Once all of that is done, I’ll go for Logistics ships, and then maybe freighters, etc.  Somewhere in there I’ll throw learning skills in so I can have an alt scanner if needed.

Supar Sekrit Alt:

  • Nothing to see here, move along

Really…nothing to see…

———-

And, this section is more for me and less for everyone else…but who knows, you might like it too.  I though it would be interesting to see how the travels of a character progress over time, so I will be putting this image in every monthly status post to keep track of my growing travels in New Eden (only for Cyberin, not my alts).

Travels for March 2010

Places I've Been - Current as of March 2010

You’ll notice it’s all High-Sec space, haven’t ventured out into Low-Sec at all yet.  The majority of my time is spent in Gallente space near dodixie, though as you can tell I’ve been on a few trips to the other factions space as well.  That can be attributed to either can-flipping roams, or Jita/Amarr/Rens runs to pickup new shinies or to sell old shinies.

———-

I was going to put a monthly killboard link here, but all I could manage to find was the recent activity page.  If anyone knows how to show a specific month for a specific pilot…that would be nice to know :)

Congratulations are in order

by Cyberin on Mar.20, 2010, under Character Updates, Community

I’m surprised Aiden hasn’t made a post about it yet, but I’d just like to congratulate him publically on his promotion to Samurai Grand Master.

I’m sad to see Velocity Prime give up the reigns as CEO, it just seems weird calling Aiden my boss now, lol.  I’ve been with Suddenly Ninjas for a while now, off and on of course…and out of all this time Aiden is probably one of the ‘closest’ friends I’ve made in game so far.  I know I can always count on him when needed…and I’m 110% sure that he will do awesome things for the Ninjas and TEARS.

As to VP…well, I’m glad you’ll be staying in game man, and although you won’t be around much, most of us are already used to that :D lol.  I wish you very good luck and happiness with your new family addition.  If it gets too much to handle, remember…parachute chord, a chair, duct tape, and a closet works wonders for stress management. :D

Things are changing for the Ninjas…it’s new, it’s exciting, and you damn well better believe you are going to be hearing a lot more from us soon!

Fare Thee Well

by Cyberin on Jan.15, 2010, under Captain's Log, Character Updates, Community, General

This will come as a shock to some people, while some already know. (and so soon after joining back up with the Ninjas and being made a Director…sorry about that VP :( ).

I’m quiting EVE, for good.

It’s a very complicated set of reasons that I’ve decided to take this route…but to sum it all up, EVE is hurting me and my family, and I can’t let it do that anymore.

I’ve played EVE for about two and a half years now, off and on, back and forth…with the reason for me taking a break each time either burn-out, or the game affecting my relationship with my family. I’ve realized that no matter what I do, the game always creeps back up to that level of interference and the only way I can solve it is to put down for good.

No, you can’t have my stuff…I already gave it all to Suddenly Ninjas…and I hope they use it to suicide gank you! :p

———-

Now, onto more pressing issues. What to do with the blog?

I was thinking about keeping it up, and turning it into a Ninja Fiction blog (not sure if I want to leave it in the same format, or convert it over to a RP style of writing?) What I mean, is I’ll still be that bastard Ninja that likes to prey on the idiots of EVE…but the stories, chat logs, and incidents will all be completely fake and made up by me.

What do you guys think of that? I’d love to hear your opinions about it! Would you like to read it? Or would knowing it all didn’t really happen make you uninterested.

I’ve had a LOT of people privately talk to me in game and via email about how much they enjoy my blog. How they read it at work, or in the truck rest areas (I had a convo with a Trucker the other day, that was interesting)…and wanting me to post more since I haven’t in a while.

While I know I must leave EVE, I’d hate to let all you loyal readers down by just having the blog go away if you’d still like to see something like this. It’s up to you! Let me know what you think in the comments, or email me at cyberineve @ gmail dot com.

(And for those that care, I’ll also soon be making a LotRO blog, because that’s the only game I’ll be playing now because my entire family plays it and that is where we spend some of our quality time :) )…hit me up if you play LotRO on the Meneldor server :)
