Hands Off, My Loots!

First off, before I go any further and forget, I wanted to throw a teaser out there for everyone to ponder about, because I’m an evil ass like that. Me and another corp mate were having a talk earlier today, and decided we are going to have a discussion in the corp forums about a new, rather fun project for the ninjas. So…hopefully you’ll hear something about that in the near future. No…you can’t have any hints.

Without further ado…

I’m flying around in my rifter, looking for some miners to kill and some ore to liberate when I jump into Chelien and am greeted in local by some guy taunting another guy…sounds like something I’d do. As their convo continues I’m roaming the belts doing my thing, when I happen upon a can that was left (as bait most likely) by the aforementioned taunter…so, knowing I’ll get a fight most likely…I grab it, and continue my search.

The smack is still going in local, and I take the opportunity to align my Orca alt to the belt I’m going to try and fight him in so I can warp him straight to me. I do this so I can play shenanigans and switch out rifters if I’m about to die, because…since I restarted my character…my pvp skills aren’t the greatest and I need all the help I can get. As I warp out of this belt to try and find him, he warps in just as I enter warp. Crap! Luckily I warped to the next belt at 100 and he followed…because while I was aligning back to where I just came from he showed up in the new belt at 0 and saw me at 100. So, I warped back at 100 hoping he’d get the hint…and he did, as when I landed, he showed up a few seconds later…about 30km from me…having warped to 70.

I took a few seconds while I was closing the distance to switch over to my other client and warp the orca to me at 0. And we began to fight around it.

He went through my shields and armor pretty quickly, but since I had 8 more rifters in the Orca, I hopped in one of those and get a fresh start. Also, a few seconds earlier, a neutral rifter warped in near us as well. I thought this was his friend, and as you’ll read in a bit…he thought it was mine.

A little bit later he opens a convo, trying to figure out what happened. Apparently he didn’t realize I was using the Orca. He thought I was switching ships with the neutral rifter that was there, while the neutral guy repaired the ship so I could jump back in again. That would be neat, but…don’t think that would work quick enough to actually do though.

2 days later…I caught myself a Hyperion!…in my rifter…(please note, I’m using chat logs from Alliance, Corp, Private, Fleet, and the Bloggers Channel…so times could get a bit confusing here…but I’ll do my best to make it make sense, best off to just ignore the times on these chat logs for the best effect)

I was out salvaging this time; rather than can-flipping…gotta change it up a bit you know. I got a hit on a Hyperion so thought I’d go get some salvage. The plan was to just salvage, and not loot…but I found a nice expensive microwarp drive in one of the wrecks…so I just had to. Apparently…the Hyp pilot didn’t think I’d be much of a threat (he was right) so he shot at me. Warp drive activated, off to the Orca I went to grab a retriever. I knew I couldn’t kill him…but, well…I’ll work something out later I guess.

I got back to the mission, and there he was. Pointed, Webbed, and Guns blazing…I took some time out to move the guns and web over to his drones…and killed those off. After the drones, I focused back on him. Got his shields down…and then…well…yeah, I got his shields down.

I’ve changed my mind about the other chat logs, they are long, boring, and just lots of comments with me asking if people thought a small neut could take down the cap of a Hyperion. Also tried to plan some ideas in corp chat. The best one, and the one I was going to try, was to throw 3 small neuts on my rifter, and have someone cap transfer me hoping that Gfy was AFK. So, I decided to grab one of my other Rifters out of the Orca to do that with, thinking I could have one to cap him out, and then switch to the combat one with the faction ammo after that was done. Well…all didn’t go as planned.

Earlier in the day, I noticed my ships in the Orca had all their mods offlined for some reason, not sure why. But, I managed to grab the ONLY rifter that I hadn’t reonlined the stuff…and couldn’t get the point onlined before he warped out…apparently he wasn’t AFK.

So, I worked on this post for a little over an hour, highlighted 95% of it, then hit delete instead of control+C…and the wordpress autosaved…I was a bit upset with myself, but here I am, doing it again.

Since I came back to EVE I’ve been doing a bit of Can Flipping and Ninjaing, while training a few basic skills. I’m going to be focussing on getting the learning skills up before the end of April though, that’s my goal…to have those at 5/4 and then throw in the basic core skills.

So, at the moment I’ve flying a Vigil, Probe, and a crappily skilled Rifter…along with my Orca alt to follow me around and do whatever I tell him to. I’ve had a bit of fun so far.

I’ve gotten 2 kills so far, so let me tell you a bit about them, and then I’ll get into a few short chat logs from recent Mission Runners…which I know you all are anxiously waiting for…though, they aren’t THAT good…give me time though!

This first kill is rather lackluster…but a kill is a kill. Not much to say about it so I won’t even bother with the chat log. The jist of the story is I stole some Ore from this noob in a navitas, he convo’d me and asked what I was doing. I told him I was sorry and he could have the ore back. He took it, said thank you, I blew him up…end of story.

The next one was a bit more entertaining for me. I was chilling in Fricoure, skimming through the belts looking for someone to play with before I started searching for some MRs. Low and Behold there is a retriever just happily mining away, tossing his unwanted ore into space. I couldn’t really figure out why he was mining if he didn’t want the ore, but whatever…I went over and took it.

He immediately locked me up, flipped the ore back into his own can, and sent his drones after me. Sweet! I locked up his drones, locked him, pointed him, and started chewing through his T1 drones. Then, silly old me turned off my point . (I had moved it to F2 and forgot about that, though I was reengaging my rockets…oops). Got him into armor and then he warped out.

So, I’m waiting in the belt for my Orca to warp in and grab the ore…when a flashy red Celestis drops in and locks me up while launching 4 more T1 drones. Wow…so I am getting lucky today. Off go my Meta 2 Autocannons and Rocket Launcher while I make sure to not turn off my point this time. Web and pop the drones, and then proceed the 5 minute ordeal of killing his cruiser (noob skills for the win?). During the process I switched ammo a few times to see what would work best, EMP S was the order of the day in the end. During this time the Orca managed to warp in and get me almost a full can of ore.

Then he blew up and warped to the station, where I promptly followed to see if he’d undock in something else. He undocked once in an Exquerer, and redocked when I shot him. After that he let the aggro run out while one of his corp mates warped in in an Ishtar…about 10 minutes after the corp aggro had warn out. Oops?

Apparently Krunak (which by the way, is on my overview right now as I type this…/evilgrin) was blind and didn’t see how many people were attacking him. Usually I’d give him the shadow of a doubt that maybe he thought my drones were other attackers…but…um…I was in a Rifter.

And as you can see there at the end, Ivanna Nuke from over at Nukes Thoughts was there helping out in local…I must say though, he was rather fond of the Cowbell…talked about it all day. Go read his blog, I hand out with him from time to time and we are always talking about fun ways of getting Tears .

Through the course of 6 minutes, he went from shooting wrecks, to tractoring them in vain as I just grabbed them out of his beams, to rage logging while still in the first pocket of his 3 pocket mission. I count that as a win, and being the generous person I am…I ran around and finished grabbing everything there was while I ignored the 2 Battleship NPCs shooting at me.

After the Kronos, I found a Navy Megathron hit and was hoping for some fun with him since they are usually whiny little bitches that like to shoot at you. I wasn’t rewarded with either of those really…but, it was entertaining anyway.

Was hoping for Tears, and all I get is “permission” to loot and salvage his stuff…as if I was going to ask him in the first place.

So, off I go, looting the decent stuff, salvaging…all the normal stuff. I finally get to the last room that he is in now and have the following conversation with him when he reopens convo after seeing that I looted. Not spectacular, but…I thought it was enjoyable…more enjoyable that the boring silence had been anyway.

And, as a final word…here’s something I saw on OMGRAWR at work the other day, and thought it fit me very well!

This will come as a shock to some people, while some already know. (and so soon after joining back up with the Ninjas and being made a Director…sorry about that VP ).

I’m quiting EVE, for good.

It’s a very complicated set of reasons that I’ve decided to take this route…but to sum it all up, EVE is hurting me and my family, and I can’t let it do that anymore.

I’ve played EVE for about two and a half years now, off and on, back and forth…with the reason for me taking a break each time either burn-out, or the game affecting my relationship with my family. I’ve realized that no matter what I do, the game always creeps back up to that level of interference and the only way I can solve it is to put down for good.

No, you can’t have my stuff…I already gave it all to Suddenly Ninjas…and I hope they use it to suicide gank you! :p

Now, onto more pressing issues. What to do with the blog?

I was thinking about keeping it up, and turning it into a Ninja Fiction blog (not sure if I want to leave it in the same format, or convert it over to a RP style of writing?) What I mean, is I’ll still be that bastard Ninja that likes to prey on the idiots of EVE…but the stories, chat logs, and incidents will all be completely fake and made up by me.

What do you guys think of that? I’d love to hear your opinions about it! Would you like to read it? Or would knowing it all didn’t really happen make you uninterested.

I’ve had a LOT of people privately talk to me in game and via email about how much they enjoy my blog. How they read it at work, or in the truck rest areas (I had a convo with a Trucker the other day, that was interesting)…and wanting me to post more since I haven’t in a while.

While I know I must leave EVE, I’d hate to let all you loyal readers down by just having the blog go away if you’d still like to see something like this. It’s up to you! Let me know what you think in the comments, or email me at cyberineve @ gmail dot com.

Just a quick update.  I’m still out here in 0.0 Ratting my Security Status up.  It’s a slow process…made even slower by the fact that I’m normally too lazy to do it right.  For people that are in a hurry to get their Security Status up, the best technique is to kill one battleship rat and then move to a new system and do the same, over and over.  After 15 minutes you can return to the first system and do it all over again.

This is the best way because you only get a Security Status increase once every 15 minutes per system…so if you go to different systems you can get more than one increase in 15 minutes.

Me?  I’m lazy, and playing it safe.  I don’t feel like losing my ship/pod at the moment to a gate camp…and I can’t be arsed to scout for myself at the moment either…so I’ve just been chilling in one system ratting.  Sure, I’m not gaining Security Status as fast as I’d like…but on the bright side, I’m making more ISK than I would be if I was just killing one Rat per system…since I can farm the belt rat battleships.

Up to -7.88, from -9.94…so I’m getting there slowly but surely.

In other news, it seems that no matter where I go I can’t help but be a smart ass…this short log is from yesterday while me and another Ninja (who kindly came to keep me company..thanks man!) were ratting and needed to relieve a little boredom.

We played with the guy for at least an hour…he would come in a Cheetah, scan us down, warp out to grab his Vagabond, then a Sabre.  He sling bubbled a gate, and the station trying to get us.  I was cloaked so I let him scan down Onilan in his Rifter so we could move safespots just to annoy him.

After about an hour he called in a friend…and since it was late already, I called it a night when he decided he didn’t wanna have any more fun…lol

First off, I’d just like to mention that although I haven’t been able to get any of the new juicy Zephyr kills myself due to being in 0.0 at the moment, Suddenly Ninjas are up to I believe 15 or so kills.  We have a corp contest going with about 350mil in ISK/Prizes for the top 3 Zephyr killers…they guys are having a blast!

Oh, and speaking of the Ninjas…I have a new title…I do believe it is something along the lines of “Cyberin, Director of Personnel Recruitment”!  That’s right…I’ve been back for 2-3 days and I’ve been promoted to Director.  As you can tell from the title…I’ll be in charge of recruitment for the Ninjas…which, I’ve been wanting to do for quite some time actually.  I may not have known it until very recently…but Suddenly Ninjas is where I belong…and I’m very happy to be able to give back to this fine group of bastards in any way that I can.  Plus…I’ve been told I have a way with words so I can most assuredly trick, I mean, recruit many a good Ninja for the future!

I’ve got my security status to under -9 now, sadly…only -8.91 I think…so I still have a LONG way to go.  I would be a lot further, but I haven’t actually gotten much time to undock this past week to work on it.  Early in the week I was busy working on getting some other website stuff I’ve got going done, and then mid-week I was having lag issues so I was scared to undock with 500 Mil ISK in my head in 0.0.  Then Friday when I came home from work my Cable Modem had died so I had to wait until this morning for the Cable Repair Guy to bring me a new one.

Then of course today is my Anniversary (6 years…I love you Babe!  Even if you didn’t let me play much EVE today…what’s up with that? :p)…so…not much play time there.

Tomorrow I get the morning at home to myself though, at which point I’ll get my alt back to where I am as a scout so I can continue pewing these dirty Serpentis Rats so I can get back home to Dodixie…many fun times ahead!
