Hands Off, My Loots!

Well, for like the 3rd or 4th time…I’m no longer a Ninja. I’ve gone over to join up with Velocity Prime with the Misfit Toys. Don’t worry…I’ll still hopefully be posting plenty of tears…as soon as I start getting some…been kinda slow for me lately because I’ve been on vacation.

I’d been thinking about leaving the Ninjas for a while, possibly making my own one man corp to dec mission runners…but I have such a strong connection with the Ninjas it has been a rather hard thing to do. But with some personal stuff that came up recently, and the fact that most of the time when I log in I either spin in the station…or flounder around for hours waiting for someone to shoot me…when no one ever does, I decided it was time to take the leap again. As always, the Ninjas are the reason I’ve stayed in EVE, and the group that made me realize what I enjoy most in EVE. So it’s bitter sweet to be leaving again, but it’s just something I had to do.

For those of you who haven’t heard of the Misfit Toys, we are a high sec wardec corp (for now…) and just love having fun killing people when we can. It was started by Velocity Prime a little while after he resigned as CEO of the Ninjas…and it’s been going along very well.

First off, read this, and then read this…and then my comment I made on that second post you can read below where I’ve quoted it. Stabs, over at Stabbed Up recently lost his Caldari Navy Raven due to his own fault. While I enjoy reading his blog, and have nothing against him personally…what everyone should realize here…is that his ship died, and it was his fault.

Here’s my quick response to his second blog post…

I’m extremely upset that you got your ship back. You were killed by valid ingame tactics, and one that ninjas use every day. Extending aggro is not an exploit, nor is it cheating. It is a functioning game mechanic…if you shoot me, I extend aggro.

Your aggression timer was still showing….so you still KNEW that he could kill you…so you made two mistakes. You shot a ninja, and then you undocked when you KNEW he could kill you.

I will be making my own petition to ask about this, as well as linking your blog here in C&P (hope you don’t mind…) to see what others think about this.

I have no qualms with people getting ships back if stuff was exploited…but in your case, there was no exploits used…and you should NOT have gotten a ship back.

As a lot of people probably know, you can extend aggro by aggressing someones wrecks or cans in space. This is an included feature of the game, and in no way an exploit. When you take a shot at someone…you need to watch your aggro timer, because…it will always update. So if it’s 2 hours later, and it is still there…simply don’t undock if you don’t want to be blown up.

If you don’t agree with the fact that it’s possible, then that’s your prerogative…but the fact of the matter is that it does exist…and the fact that a Senior GM reimbursed someone for their own stupidity pisses me off, especially when previous GMs (and I’m sure the Senior GM himself) know there was no exploit used. Next time a mission runner blows me up, I’m gonna petition it and get my vigil reimbursed by linking to Stabs’ post…by all accounts, it should work right?

What’s your opinion on the matter?

I’m gonna try something new.  I’m actually going to start posting more!  Like…hopefully every time I get some tears, I’m going to log off, and post about it.  It probably won’t happen like that…but I’m tired of going through days and days worth of chat logs to refresh my memory of stuff.

First off for today, this is not entertaining in the least, but as I was salvaging the other day, I warp in to a Raven’s Mission…and what do I see?  He’s tractoring a can of loot behind him.  He’s looted the entire mission for me already…YOINK!…then I warp in the Orca, pick up the loot…and he never shoots, but hey…that can had about 15mil ISK worth of loot in it so I was happy.  Glad he got his hands off my loot! (see what I did there?)

Oh, and while I was going through the logs, I noticed this (which I didn’t see in local at the time…I was just traveling through some belts while can flipping)

Crap…copy/paste fail.  Suddenly Ninjas have a habit of posting tears in corp chat for others to revel over…Mr. Deeds provided that gem for me in local after our initial chat, so I had to share (I had already shared the killing of my own fecal matter ejection system with them…).  I forgot I didn’t have his first statement still on the clipboard…so it was a little embarrassing…easy enough to fix though!

Now, to the good stuff you have all been waiting for…BECAUSE OF FALCON!!!

Arden, over at Ninja Hi-Jinx found himself an Abaddon with an Itchy trigger finger…and I was in system so I thought I’d go watch the fight, and take some loot while I was at it.  Now, this Abaddon had some kind of hellish tank on it…Arden thought he might be very blingy…so I was getting ready to go grab a scan ship when the Abaddon shot at me too! (I had looted something, didn’t actually expect him to shoot at me though…what an idiot).  So, scan ship idea was put on hold as I warped to the Orca and grabbed my Gank Cane, Banana Smoothie.

I get back, and go to town on this Abaddon (I forgot the dudes name…he never said a word in local so I can’t really find out what it was).  Minutes go by (long minutes…this dude has one hell of a tank, me in my cane, and Arden in his Sleip are having trouble cracking him).  We are getting close…and…my client crashes! SHIT!!! Log back in!  But what is this?  It didn’t just crash…it FROZE…so I had to ctrl+alt+delete to get it closed out so I could reopen it.  Once I log back in, I reacquire lock and we start working on him again.

About a minute later…a neutral Falcon warps in.  Except, it’s not really neutral…it’s one of his corp mates…that doesn’t have aggro on either me or Arden.  Wanna guess what happens next?  You are correct…CONCORDOKKEN!!!!

The fit he linked was just a standard mission Abaddon fit, no shinies or anything…just T2 stuff.  Although this character was 4 years old, I still find it hard to believe he tanked a Gank Cane and a Sleipnir for as long as he did (not sure how long…but it was a LONG time).  But, I can’t really say either way…it could happen if his tanking skills were awesome I guess…but, meh…all that matters in the end was I didn’t get my kill…BECAUSE OF FALCON!

Still no kills since I’ve been back (actually, that’s a lie…just got one today, but that’s for another post )
