My Loots are Faster than Your Loots
by Staxed on Nov.10, 2009, under General
I highly, highly doubt that many mission runners have noticed it, but there are a few missions that you can now use Microwarp Drive in. It’s been like this for a bit now, as us folks in Suddenly Ninjas have been talking about it…and some of us have even started putting an Afterburner and a Microwarp Drive on our ships…just in case.
Once we realized this we starting hoping that it’s some sort of new change coming in the future…where MWDs are allowed in all missions. Well…today, CCP confirmed it. Thanks CCP Dropbear!
Now I know lots of you MRs (us people in the ‘industry’ like to refer to Mission Runners as MRs in case you didn’t get that) are having mixed feelings about this. On one hand, your Battleships can go faster now…which you know you are happy about…for those of you willing to sacrifice a bit of tank anyway. But on the other hand…other people can go faster in your missions now too.
How do I feel about this?…well…that’s a stupid question. Whenever these changes are finallized and introduced fully throughout all missions…I don’t have to put along all slow like at 1,300 m/s, I will now be able to salvage the wrecks I find littered in space…and take you hands off my loots, at a nice, leisurely pace of 3,500 m/s.
Needless to say…I’m looking forward to it.
October Character Review
by Staxed on Nov.10, 2009, under Character Updates
Well…as always, I said I was going to pay better attention to my skills and stuff like that for making these Character Review posts…but October was rather hectic…and then at the end of the month someone tried to break into my house so I’ve been busy getting an alarm system…calming the wife down, etc…so it’s a little late to boot!
———-
First off, on Cyberin…I still haven’t started working on my learning skills yet….still 40 days to go to get all the basics to level 5 and advanced to level 4…it’ll happen one of these days, I’ve just had other stuff that’s more important to me for the short term.
I worked on getting some drone skills up because I’ve decided I like them again. Can use T2 Lights and Mediums, along with all the ECM, Logistics, and other drones like that. I also worked on my Remote Repair skills and now have 2 fully fitting Remote Rep cruisers sitting in station for when they are needed…one for shield (Osprey) and one for armor (Exequror).
Somewhere in there I also decided to get my scanning skills up to level 3 all around, with a plan of getting them to 4 in the near future. Other than that, I started training a few support skills that I’ve been neglecting…and then as I normally do, I try to buy all the skill book that’s I have the prereqs for (except those rather expensive ones) which is why I have so many level 1 skills…I just can’t help myself. I think I also threw in some missioning skills (diplomacy, etc) somewhere in October…trying to get my standings up a little for selling/refining purposes.
Ship wise…I cross trained into a few other ships…I can fly all the T1 Frigates, all cruisers except Amarr, and Caldari Battleships now…along with Minmatar, Caldari, and Gallente Battlecruisers…although, weapon wise I have to use most of the high meta stuff…still gotta work on the fitting skills for them sometime.

The Nameless Alt got into an Orca last week and I’ve been enjoying that a lot…already used it in one Corp salvaging op as a central base of operations…and it makes for an excellent time while I’m solo salvaging. My plan now is to do a few more support skills to get a decent fit on the orca, and then I’ll be mixing my training time between skills for Logistics Ships, and Command Ships…since I want this guy to be purely a support character for me and other corp ops.
Also finished Cloaking IV so I can put that lovely Covert Ops cloak on the Blockade Runner!

He Accidentaly MY jetcan!
by Staxed on Nov.09, 2009, under Captain's Log, Fail, Fleet Ops, Kill, Tears
Two days ago, a corp mate told us a story of how a noob in a velator got 3 or 4 people in a certain system to suicide themselves on him. We liked this so much that we spoke to the noob…and found out he was not really a noob…just on an alt to mess with people…we liked it, we liked his style…and…we decided we’d work together to get more tears out of at least of of these individuals…so read on
Before I start posting all the Chat logs, I’ll go ahead and give the tl;dr version first because it doesn’t really spoil much for those that want to read the entire thing…just gives a bit more anticipation! There is a guy named TheWarHound, he decided to Concordokken himself of this alt noob the day before in his Myrmidon…then said “I needed a new ship anyway”. Because of that statement…we made it our aim to “help” him as much as possible. Through some excellent social engineering…we managed (we…as in me, 2 corp mates, and the noob alt guy) to get this douchebag to steal from my loot can, and then killed him.
The entire process involved his loot from the day before (when concord killed him), my badger, the corpies, and the alt noob, who I might add…has excellent diplomacy skills. I took the loot in my badger, 15km outside docking range of a station, then had my corpy kill me after I jettisoned the loot (thought we’d try and see if we could put the loot in the wreck…we couldn’t…so we blew the wreck). Then one corpy in a Recon cloaked next to the can, while the other 2 of us went to a safe near the station and aligned to him…while the noob alt guy started a convo.
The convo went something like…”hey, this asshole Cyberin just blew up my hauler with your loot in it because I stole from his mining can out in a belt…you can come get it if you want”. About 10 minutes of diplomacy later the guy actually decided to come get it…and we toasted him…then much Tears fell from the Local Sky. Chat Logs below (edited to remove all the local chatter that had nothing to do with this event…including the statements by MR. TheWarHound saying that he is an Indian and the White Man pissed him off 200 years ago by invading his homeland…blah blah blah).
As always…with my comments to make sense of things
I actually AM interested in the CSM this year
by Staxed on Nov.07, 2009, under Community
For the past 3 CSM elections, I haven’t really even paid attention to them. I’ve said it before…but I’m the type of person that plays the game I’m given. If they change stuff, that doesn’t bother me, I feel that it is CCP’s game…and they can do what they want with it. In this day and age everyone feels like gaming companies are required to do what their customers what…but really they aren’t…we pay them to play their game…nothing in the EULAs say we get the change the game if we want.
But anyway, this year…I’ve been informed that there is a fellow ninja salvager running for the CSM. Now, he’s not just a ninja salvager…he’s put together a very good platform, and speaks well about it. Uses correct grammar, blah blah blah…he seems to actually be very serious about running, and that makes me proud!
My concern is that people are not going to vote for him for the simple fact of what he is in game. No matter how hard myself and other people try to explain it…people still don’t get the fact that who we are in game is not always who were are in real life. Just because someone likes to make people cry in game and steal their shit….doesn’t mean they want to destroy their game.
So…if you want to check him out, his name is Logit Probit…and I will be giving him all 3 of my votes…and you should too!
He stands for more than just Ninja Salvaging of course. His platform revolves around adding variety, choices, and unpredictability back into EVE…which is a damn good idea if you ask me.
