A month in kills

by on Oct.19, 2009, under Captain's Log, Kill, Loss

While I’m getting ready to write a new post up with some Tears I got today (not epic tears, but tears none-the-less)…I realized that I have put off so many fun happenings this past month that I forgot the bloody details of half of them!  In the future I plan on taking so some sort of notes, that way when I procrastinate on making posts about them…I don’t forgot the good stuff.

So, in leu of lots of epicness and gory details…I’ll just give you some links to some kills…and let you make up your own stories!

Ok…the first one you don’t get to make up…it’s simple, I took a pot shot at a Harbinger fighting a Drake on a gate.  They both died, and yes…I went back and took their loots!

I also remember details about these next three kills!  We were bored one day, and decided to go have fun in a wormhole.  We spent a good hour or so jumping in and out of the wormhole, with these people jumping in and out as well.  Turns out they were just waiting for more of their people to log in.  Finally, on the wormhole…a Harbinger, Drake, MOA, and Navy Megathron started shooting at us.  Not sure why, but none of them jumped through except the Megathron when they got into hull (and he only made it by about 20% :( )…it ended in fun for us, none for them…and we came away with an lolfit harbinger kill…and about an hour before, a few people in SN killed a hauler of theirs that dropped a Large Shadow Tower…that was nice of them!

And of course….I did lose a few ships.

http://handsoffmyloots.eve-kill.net/?a=kill_detail&kll_id=4618429 me and another member of SN got bored and went to play around in lowsec…lesson learned…don’t play with Harbingers in frigates…

http://handsoffmyloots.eve-kill.net/?a=kill_detail&kll_id=4599477 this one happened before we killed those 3 people in the wormhole…I was bored, shooting at a medium gun on a tower, it got a lucky shot…and yes, that is a SN member on the kill…I was in his HIC Bubble on the wormhole earlier so he got the killing blow :D …darn ninjas!

http://handsoffmyloots.eve-kill.net/?a=kill_detail&kll_id=4572723 testing out a battle bestower fit…didn’t work well because I let them refit and come back.  That’s ok though…the Iteron stayed there long enough for me to fly 8 jumps to pick up this.

That is all…now go do something useful!

A New, Neverending Threat…

by on Oct.15, 2009, under Captain's Log, Fail, War

First off, I’d like to throw a shout-off off in the direction of a certain Caels Caldanhai.  He sent me a convo request yesterday while I was busy camping our single War Targets station and I had a nice conversation with him.  Turns out he’s a fan of the blog, in the US Armed Forces like I am, and although he’s a carebear…I’ve given him certain thoughts of ‘bad tendencies’.  Hopefully he’ll try it out and see how fun it is one of these days.  So, thanks for reading Caels, and thanks for the convo!

———-

As I mentioned earlier (not sure if it was on another post, in twitter, or the EVE-Bloggers channel…but I know I did mention it, the Tear Extraction and Reclamation Service alliance got another wardec recently (it went active yesterday).  It is from a corp with a single 4 month old member who apparently likes to fly Interceptors.  After the war went active, one of my fellow Ninjas (Borris USAF) decided to go find the guy.  It was quick with his locator agent and so he commenced a conversation with the War Target (Rusty01). A Site Reborn

by on Oct.12, 2009, under General

If you are reading this post right now, it’s for one of three reasons:

  1. You saw my new post on the old podlogs site and clicked the link (probably the most likely)
  2. You already knew about this site from the couple of times I’ve left comments linking to this site rather than podlogs on accident (done that about 20 times or so)
  3. You searched for “Crazy, Homosexual Monkey Sex” in google. (Not very likely…but now that it’s here…I’m sure it’ll work in a few days…)

As much as I liked PodLogs (props to a really great service), I just wanted my own domain name and site again so I could edit whatever I wanted and make it look just how I want.  The freedom that having my own site provides is just something I realized I need after being with a free host for a while.

Some of you may or may not know, but I have run my own hosting company for almost 6 years…sadly I’ve recently had to shut it down do to lack of time and…well…lack of customers because of the lack of time.  So rather than hosting everything myself on my own servers, I decided to go with @AnMiTh who runs an awesome EVE hosting service over at Lonetrek.ws.  He’s got really cheap prices (and you can pay in either cash, or ISK) and a great service…and since I’ve been a host for 6 years…I don’t say that lightly…I’m hard to please when it comes to hosting providers.  If you are looking for a place to call your own for you blog…please check out Lonetrek…you won’t regret it!

Well, since I’m in a linking, talking about other people mood…I guess I’ll mention that I’ve decided to steal some ideas from Casiella.  About a month ago he made a post on his blog about some excellent WordPress Plugins…which I’ve already installed on the site here.  I’ve still got a lot more to do…but I’ve got enough done to make myself feel like I’m ready to launch the site (hence the reason I’m writing this post).

I still need to redo all my Tags and edit some links in previous posts, as well as getting everyone to change their links/rss feeds to the new site. (hint hint: if you are reading this…you can change your link to http://handsoff.myloots.com and rss feeds to http://handsoff.myloots.com/feed)

Hopefully everyone will enjoy the new site as much as I know I will…be on the lookout for some good changes in the near future…and a new style of posting category sometime this week!

Russians like to Cyber

by on Oct.10, 2009, under Captain's Log, Kill

I was bored…tired of Station Spinning I actually decided to undock and go harass miners rather than Mission Runners.  The first couple of systems didn’t have anyone who wanted to play, but then on my third try I found myself a nice Covetor mining in a belt with a few rat wrecks around him.  After stealing from the wrecks he warps off…and a few minutes later an NPC Corp Thrasher shows up next to me…and this is the conversation we had, along with a little party.

For those that don’t want to read the entire thing, here’s the tl:dr version first:  ERIC KVEILAN was mining on his main (yes…he’s an alt…with an all caps name…).  After I took some stuff from his rat wrecks…he came out in ERIC in a Thrasher because he doesn’t know anything about aggro rules.  I learned that he was account sharing so I told him I wouldn’t report him if he fought me, and that we would only fight to hull.  After a while he agreed, he warped out twice before I told him I’d go refit for range so he would have a chance…but instead I switched my Disruptor out for a Scram so I could kill him this time.  After that, I got minor Tears…and a threat that he’d find me later…continue reading on for the full version…

Aug-Sep Character Review

by on Oct.02, 2009, under Character Updates

Since I made the first Character Review post halfway through August, I decided to go ahead and wait until October to do the next one so I could get set for a regular monthly Review post.  So…here it is…not much to it, but who knows…someone might find it interesting.

———-

I decided not to do images like last time because I haven’t gotten photoshop working again since my computer died and recently got updated to Windows 7 to fix some errors.  So sadly, all you picture lovers (any Goons read the blog?) will have to wait until next month to see those beautiful pie charts.

I also forgot to print out my skillsheet for the first review post, so while I know I have more skills, I’m not 100% of which ones I trained recently, so this will just be a short overview of what I think I trained, and then I’ll start keeping better records to make future Reviews more in-depth and informative!

For Cyberin, I trained up some more scanning skills, a few T2 Frigates (CovOps, Stealth Bombers, Electronic Attack), T2 Small Autocannons and Artillery, T2 Small Projectile Ammo, and then some random other skills.  And when I say random, I do mean random.  I trained up for a crappy fit Drake to work in wormholes with, got the Caldari Cruiser just high enough to use it, then trained for a T2 (continue reading…)
